Woman shot in West Englewood

A woman was shot late Sunday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 24-year-old was sitting in the front seat of a vehicle at 10:43 p.m. parked in the 6900 block of South Winchester when two males walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

She was shot in the right thigh and was driven to Holy Cross Hospital, police said. The woman was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.
