A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

He was walking about 10:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Ridgeway when he heard shots and realized he’d been hit, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the lower left leg and took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.
