The police issued a community alert Tuesday warning Portage Park residents after a series of home burglaries in the Northwest Side neighborhood in which electronics, jewelry, cash and other items were taken.

The most recent burglary occurred between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of North Mason Avenue. Other burglaries were reported at 1:04 p.m. Thursday in the 6100 block of West Montrose; between 7:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. May 15 in the 4800 block of West Hutchinson; and at 7 p.m. May 7 in the 4200 block of North Mulligan.
