SHARE Report: Jay Cutler tested out hamstring before Seattle game

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler tried to play Sunday against the Seahawks despite his strained hamstring, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.

Cutler tested out the injury during a brief workout at CenturyLink Field three hours prior to kickoff against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Dickerson reports.

The Bears QB was ruled out for Week 3 on Friday by coach John Fox, but he made the trip out west and spent almost 10 minutes on the field before the game.

In an Adam Jahn’s report, Fox said that Cutler’s preparation has been good all year, which may allow him to return from the injury earlier than expected.

From Jahns:

I actually would’ve preferred to put him as doubtful, Fox said. He threw the ball a little bit Friday. He doesn’t have a torn ACL, he has a hamstring injury. It’s kind of one day at a time to see how it improves. Mentally, he’s been great. He’s been a stud. He’s been like he’s been all year as far as his preparation.

Previous reports had Cutler missing anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

The Bears look for their first win Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
