After their football field and their community were ravaged by two tornados in 19 months, members of the Coal City High School football team got a surprise visit from former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.

Urlacher was on hand to deliver a $50,000 check on behalf of the Bears and offer his own words of encouragement.

From ChicagoBears.com:

The money reportedly will be used to help repair damage done to the school’s athletic fields and scoreboard by a devastating tornado June 22. Urlacher surprised the players and coaches, who knew the Bears were going to present them with a check but had no idea it was being delivered by a future Hall of Famer. Coal City is located about 60 miles southwest of Chicago.

Nearly 900 properties were damaged in the tornado, according to the Morris Herald-News.
