Man shot in Canaryville

A 36-year-old man was shot in the Canaryville neighborhood late Saturday afternoon on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 4:15 p.m. in the 300 block of West Root, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the leg and took himself to Provident Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

Police said he was uncooperative and that the shooting likely was gang-related.
