A 37-year-old man was shot and critically injured late Sunday in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

He was outside about 11:45 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Wood when a black vehicle drove by, and someone inside shot him in the abdomen and hand, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
