Police are warning residents about three recent armed robberies at Gage Park neighborhood businesses on the Southwest Side.

In each incident, the suspect approached a victim with a handgun and announced the robbery, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened:

  • about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 5700 block of South Western;
  • about 5:36 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 2700 block of West 59th Street; and
  • about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 2400 block of West 55th Street.

The robber is described as a black male, between 17 and 25 years old, standing between 5-foot-7 and 6-foot-1, weighing between 120 and 170 pounds, with short black hair and a medium-to-dark complexion, police said.
