A 23-year-old man was bitten by a dog when someone started shooting in his direction and he ran from the gunfire into a yard with a dog Saturday afternoon in Englewood.

It happened around 2:45 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Emerald Avenue, according to the police, who said the man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition.
