A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning in theEast Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

At 10:16 a.m., 25-year-old Earron D. Moore was standing near the street in the 700 block of North Lawndale when someone fired shots at him from a passing vehicle, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Moorewas shot at least once in the backand taken toMount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. He lived in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

Area North detectives were investigating.

The 59-year-old retired officer, hit in the arm and abdomen, was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai Medical Center, according to police.
