A woman was shot early Wednesday in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old told investigators she was driving about 4:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Hoyne when someone fired shots at her vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the back and two graze wounds to the shoulder, police said. The woman later showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.

At about 7:15 p.m., a 56-year-old man was hit by inbound Metra train #666 at the Des Plaines station at 1501 Miner Street, according to Des Plaines police. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
