A man was critically wounded Wednesday afternoon in an Austin neighborhood shooting on the West Side.

The 32-year-old man was in the 500 block of South Kolmar at 12:27 p.m. when someone approached him and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
