A bank was robbed Wednesday afternoon in south suburban Alsip.

The non-takeover robbery happened at 3:11 p.m. at the U.S. Bank branch at 12004 S. Pulaski Rd. in Alsip, according to the FBI.

The suspect was described as a black male between 6-foot and 6-foot-2, and 170 pounds with a medium build, wearing a dark suit and tie, and a baseball cap.

He got into a dark-gray van that headed east after the robbery, FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said.

No weapon was shown.
