A 17-year-old boy was shot Monday night in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

At 10:36 p.m., he was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Western when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He had been struck in the right hand.

The boy was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
