A man died Sunday morning after he fell onto Red Line tracks in the Loop.
The CTA cut the power to Red Line trains shortly before 6 a.m. after a report of a person on the southbound tracks near the former Washington station at 128 N. State St., according to CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase. The station closed in 2006.
Kevin L. King, 33, made contact with the third rail and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7 a.m., according to Fire Media and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived on the Near West Side.
An autopsy Monday did not rule on King’s cause and manner of death, with results pending further investigation, according to the medical examiner’s office.
