A man was shot Sunday evening in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The 25-year-old was walking about 5:35 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Ashland when he heard gunshots, saw an armed male and realized he’d been struck in his foot, according to Chicago police.

He showed up at Mercy Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating.
