A man was shot in the face Monday afternoon in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Just before 1 p.m., the 30-year-old was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was parked in the 3100 block of West Columbus, Chicago Police said. A person walked up to the driver’s side of the vehicle, fired into the glass and struck the man in his face.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, police said.

The shooter got into a gray, four-door Chevrolet sedan and drove away, police said.
