A woman was shot while she was driving Sunday evening in the West Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 22-year-old woman was driving at 5:58 p.m. in the first block of West 87th Street when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police. She was hit in the torso.

Emergency responders found the woman at 80th and Princeton, and took her to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
