Four people were taken toahospital for smoke inhalationFriday morning after their home caught fire in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove.

The fire broke out about 6:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Hickory Drive, the Buffalo Grove Fire Department said. The fire was contained to the second-floor bedroom.

The family of four evacuated their home was taken to Northwest Community Hospitalfor smoke inhalation, the department said. Their conditions were described as stable. A firefighter was treatedon scene for a minor injury.

“I worked 30 years of my life in management, so I was an ideal employee, I had ambitions to move up with Zen Leaf,” said Jim Doane, an organizing employee. “But I’m an old guy and I am tired of being bullied by the bosses. I showed up early, I received praise and I worked hard for them to just fire me.”
