A 15-year-old boy was shot Friday afternoon the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy was shot in his right leg about 2:15 p.m. in the 5200 block of South Morgan, according to Chicago Police. Before the shooting, he heard screeching tires and then gunshots and realized he was shot.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
