Two men were shot, one of them fatally, Sunday evening in Gary, Indiana.

Officers were called at 7:39 p.m. for reports of a shooting victim in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Porter Street in Gary, according to a statement from Gary police. They arrived to find a 21-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary before being airlifted to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

At 7:51 p.m., the officers investigating the shooting were called to Methodist Hospital Northlake for reports that a second gunshot victim had been dropped off, police said. Investigators met with the 20-year-old man, who had suffered two gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 9:44 p.m.

The Lake County coroner’s office identified him as Aundrell Kendrick, who lived in Gary. He had also been shot in the 400 block of Porter Street. His death was ruled a homicide.

The Lake County Metro Homicide Unit was investigating whether the two shooting victims were connected, police said.
