A South Shore man accused of burglarizing a Lake View apartment and resisting a police officer was being held without bail after a hearing Tuesday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
Mishawn Fields, 23, was found inside the apartment about 4:30 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of West Fletcher Street, Chicago police said. Officers arrived and found Fields still inside the residence and using the resident’s iPhone.
Fields fled through another door and ran into an officer who pushed him against a banister, police said. Fields pulled away to escape, but officers were able to take him into custody.
He was charged with a felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer, authorities said.
Fields appeared before Judge Sophia Atcherson for a bail hearing Tuesday afternoon, according to Cook County court records, and was being held without bail. His next court date was set for Monday.
