A 16-year-old boy was walking on a sidewalk when he heard gunfire and felt pain, police said.

A 16-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Monday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

He was walking on a sidewalk about 8:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 42nd Street when he heard shots and felt pain, Chicago police said.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the feet and he took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
