Tavern at the Park, a popular spot for drinks in the summer months thanks to its picture-perfect view of Millennium Park will close at the end of March.

Prudential Plaza, where the restaurant is located, was purchased by Sterling Bay in April for $680 million, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.

“We weren’t looking to sell, but they approached us, made a generous offer and things just progressed,” Tavern at the Park co-owner Peter de Castro told Crain’s.

Castro told Crain’s half of the restaurant’s 80 employees have already found other jobs.

Tavern in the Park opened in 2007.
