A man was shot multiple times and wounded Friday in South Shore.

He was sitting in a parked vehicle about 4:20 p.m. when someone approached on foot and fired shots in the 7500 Block of South Chappel, according to Chicago police.

The man, 43, was struck in his hand, forearm and chest, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.

Area South detectives are investigating.
