A man has died a day after he was wounded in a double shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway near East Garfield Park.

The shooting happened about 2:20 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes near California Avenue, Illinois State Police said.

Ralph Banks, 25, of Chicago, was a passenger in the car and suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead the next day, according to state police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A 28-year-old man driving the car suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, state police said.

Police have not yet released any additional information.
