Three takeaways from the Bears-Cowboys game:

The JP Holtz Game? The Bears found an obscure secret weapon Thursday. The tight end hadn’t caught a pass in almost two months — he had two catches for 16 yards on Oct. 6 and one for seven yards the week before. In the first half, though, he caught one pass for 30 yards, another for 19 and a third for seven. It was welcome production for a team desperate for tight end help.

Wimsy. Receiver Javon Wims might have cost the Bears four points when he was flagged for an illegal block above the waist on Anthony Miller’s 11-yard catch on third-and-10. Rather than having the ball at the Cowboys’ 12, the Bears had to eventually settle for an Eddy Pineiro field goal. Amazingly, it was Wims’ third such penalty in the last three quarters, dating to the Lions game. He left Thursday’s game later in the second quarter with a knee injury.

Simultaneous. With 10 seconds left in the first half, Trubsky threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Allen Robinson, who landed in the end zone with his arms around the ball. So did Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith. By rule, though, the offense is rewarded the ball in the case of a simultaneous catch.
