A burglar stole from one business and attempted to get into another minutes apart this week in North Center.

In one case, the suspect broke in through the rear door and took the cash register, Chicago police said. In a second case, the suspect tried to force open the front door but failed.

Both incidents happened between 4:20 a.m. and 4:29 a.m. Jan. 12 in the 1800 block of West Irving Park Avenue, police said.

A description of the suspect wasn’t available, police said.
