The three wives have been chosen.

The incensed and insulted ladies of “First Wives Club,” the musical set to have its pre-Broadway debut Feb. 17-March 29, 2015 at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre, will be played by Faith Prince (as Brenda, the Bette Midler role in the 1996 film), Christine Sherrill (as Elise, the Goldie Hawn role) and Carmen Cusack (as Annie, the Diane Keaton role).

Prince, who won a Tony Award for her performance as Adelaide in the 1992 revival of “Guys and Dolls,” and recently starred as Miss Hannigan in the Broadway revival of “Annie,” also is widely known for her work on television.

Cusack starred as Elphaba in the production of “Wicked” that played at the Oriental Theatre, and as Nellie Forbush in the national tour of Lincoln Center’s “South Pacific” revival.

But it is Sherrill who is best known by Chicago audiences. The actress won a 2013 Jeff Award for her portrayal of Norma Desmond in the Drury Lane Theatre production of “Sunset Boulevard” and played Miss Hannigan in “Annie” at Aurora’s Paramount Theatre. Most recently she starred as Donna in the Las Vegas production of “Mamma Mia!”

“First WivesClub,” based on the hit Paramount film, features songs by the legendary Motown team of Holland-Dozier-Holland and a book by Emmy-winner Linda Bloodworth Thomason. It will be directed by Simon Phillips.
