Talking Brickhouse bobblehead coming

It’s a first! A talking bobblehead. At least at Wrigley Field.

At Friday’s Cubs –Cardinals game Friday, there will be a Jack Brickhouse bobblehead give-away for folks who get to the game early enough.

The bobbing figure — a likeness of the late, great and beloved Hall of Fame broadcaster — will have an audio chip embedded in it, reliving Brickhouse’s broadcast of Ernie Banks’ 500th homerun. Natch, the recording will end with Brick’s signature “Hey! Hey!”

To toast the occasion, the Cubs have created a special jersey for Jack’s widow, Pat Brickhouse — emblazoned with “40” to honor Jack’s four decades in the broadcast booth.

Pat also will throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game — and, for the very first time, lead the Wrigley crowd in singing for the 7th inning stretch.
