Bears linebacker Lance Briggs will practice three times this week and the team will decide whether he can play, and start, on Friday, coach Marc Trestman said Monday.

The Bears are “reasonably optimistic” about his status, Trestman said.

Briggs has been out since fracturing his shoulder Oct. 20 against the Redskins. He returned to practice last week.
