A wrong-way driver who caused a crash that injured two people early Sunday on the Stevenson Expressway on the Southwest Side has been charged with DUI, police said.

The crash happened in the outbound lanes of I-55 at Damen at 1:45 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another car, police said.

On Monday, 22-year-old Lessly Hernandez of Chicago was charged with DUI and reckless driving, ISP said.

Hernandez and the other driver were taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
