Among the different types of Affordable Care Act plans offered in Illinois, those with lower premiums and higher out-of-pocket costs (Bronze, Silver) have tended to be adopted by older enrollees. Platinum plans, which have the highest premiums but lower out-of-pocket costs, were the most preferred type of plans among younger groups:
