Man shot in Bridgeport

A man was shot Saturday night in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the right leg in the 2900 block of South Poplar Avenue at 11:10 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

The man was taken in serious condition to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Gaines said.
