Man shot in West Englewood

A man was shot late Sunday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 32, was standing on the sidewalk about 11:50 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Seeley Avenue when he heard shots ring out and realized he had been struck, police said.

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to both legs and had a friend take him to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was listed in “stable” condition, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
