A man was shot and critically wounded early Sunday in Pilsen.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the chest about 1:50 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Loomis, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Gaines said.
