A man was killed in a crash in northwest suburban Barrington Hills Wednesday afternoon.

About 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Old Sutton Road north of Illinois Route 62, according to a statement from Barrington Hills police.

The vehicle — a 1998 Infiniti 130 — had gone off the road, hit a tree and turned over, police said.

The driver, 26-year-old Kiril Kountchev, was the only person in the vehicle, police said.

Kountchev, of the 700 block of Bode Road in Hoffman Estates, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The road was closed for about four hours after the crash, the cause of which remains under investigation, police said.
