A man was shot Sunday in Lawndale on the West Side.

About 5:20 p.m., the man was getting out of a vehicle in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard when someone in another vehicle fired multiple shots at him, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the lower back, police said. He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was in good condition.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
