A north suburban man won a $50,000 lottery prize Saturday, the Illinois Lottery announced.

Michael Phillips, of Waukegan, bought a Quick Pick ticket at a Citgo gas station at 2400 W. Grand Ave in Waukegan, according to release from the Illinois Lottery. He matched four of the winning numbers, plus the Powerball in a March 19th drawing.

Phillips plans to buy a new car and take his daughter shopping, according to the release.

The Citgo station received a $500 bonus or 1% of the prize amount for selling the winning ticket.
