An 11-year-old boy was shot Thursday in Austin on the West Side.

He was in an alley about 9:23 p.m. on West Race Avenue when he heard two loud noises, Chicago police said.

The boy was shot in the nose and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area Four detectives are investigating.
