A 20-year-old man who was fatally shot last week in northwest Indiana has been identified.

Officers responded to shots fired at 1:17 a.m. May 8 in the 4300 block of West 24th Court in Gary, according to Gary Police Lt. Dawn Westerfield.

When the officers arrived, they found the man outside suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

Rakeem Walker of Gary was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.
