A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 3:40 p.m., the 19-year-old was outside in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road when a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala drove up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago Police said.

The man was struck in his upper right leg, police said. He then returned fire and got in a white Impala and drove away.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
