(SKOKIE) Repair on a water main in north suburban Skokie forced part of Touhy Avenue to close Monday morning.

As of 9:30 a.m., crews were working to repair the water main on eastbound Touhy at the eastbound entrance ramp to the Edens Expressway, according to a statement from the Village of Skokie.

The curb lane of eastbound Touhy at the entrance ramp will be closed during the entirety of the repair activity, the statement said. Access to the eastbound expressway ramp will remain open and westbound traffic will not be affected.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid that portion of eastbound Touhy as repairs are not expected to be completed until the end of the day Monday.
