Woman shot on Southwest Side

A 41-year-old woman was shot in the leg early Sunday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

She was standing on the street about 1:15 a.m. in the 6500 block of South Maplewood when she heard shots and felt pain, police said.

She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where her condition stabilized, police said.

The shooting happened minutes after two other people were injured in gunfire about six blocks away in the same neighborhood.
