Two South Side men have been charged with possessing guns and selling drugs.

Willie Terrell Daniels, 24, of the 10200 block of South Indiana, was charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon and one felony count of delivering or manufacturing 30-500 grams of cannabis, according to a statement from Chicago Police. Brandon West, 25, of the 7800 block of South Ingleside, was charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a loaded weapon without a FOID card.

About 9:08 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call of a person with a gun selling drugs in the 6200 block of South Cottage Grove and found the two men, police said.

As officers walked up to them, they saw West sitting down with a gun protruding from his hip, police said. They also saw Daniels standing next to a vehicle that smelled like cannabis.

Inside the vehicle they found a bag containing a loaded handgun and multiple bags of cannabis. Police said Daniels admitted to owning the bag.

They are both scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday, police said.
