A teenager was shot and wounded Sunday evening in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 16-year-old was walking about 11:40 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Damen Avenue when he heard gunfire and realized he was hit, Chicago police said.

He was struck in his leg and then taken to Saint Bernard Hospital in good condition, according to police. No one was in custody.
