A 38-year-old man was found shot to death Tuesday morning inside an apartment in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded at 3:57 a.m. to a call of a person shot and found the man unresponsive in the living room of a second-floor apartment in the 6200 block of South May with a gunshot wound to his head, according to Chicago Police.

Police previously said he had been shot multiple times in his body.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An autopsy Wednesday did not immediately rule on the cause and manner of his death pending further investigation.

Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation, police said.
