A man was found shot to death Sunday morning in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

La’Dell Barnett, 23, was found with a gunshot wound to the head at 4:03 a.m. in the 1900 block of West 52nd Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He lived in Yazoo City, Mississippi.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
