4800 block of South Bishop | Chicago Police

A man was shot Sunday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 26-year-old was sitting in front of a home when three males he didn’t know got out of a maroon vehicle that was down the street and began firing shots about 8:45 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Bishop, according to Chicago Police.

He was struck in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was in good condition, police said.

He did not appear to be the intended target of the shooting, according to police.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
