Moon Alert

After 5 a.m. Chicago time, we have the “all clear” today to shop and do business. The moon is in Aquarius.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today you will focus on friends, groups, clubs and organizations. If this involvement takes place in the morning, something unusual might occur. Someone might defy you, or surprise you, or suggest something unusual. It’s a social day.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Be careful because this is a tricky day to deal with parents and authority figures. (Incidentally, this includes the police.) They might do something that catches you off guard or surprises you, or perhaps even challenges you. You will have to be super cool.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Travel plans might be delayed, interrupted or canceled. Or perhaps, you suddenly have to travel when you didn’t want to do so. Likewise, issues related to the law, higher education, schedules and medicine might suffer from surprises and interruptions. Oh well.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Something unusual might impact banking, wills, inheritances and anything to do with shared property, which is why you need to keep your eyes open today. Do not be caught napping. Late in the day, you might receive a gift or a favor. (Bonus!)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Someone will throw you a curveball today or surprise you in some way — perhaps a partner, close friend or a boss or parent. Could be anyone. The thing for you to do is to not have a knee-jerk reaction. Observe what happens and then carefully choose your response. (Hey, you’re royalty.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

There will be interruptions to your work schedule today. They could be computer crashes, power outages, staff shortages or a fire drill — but something out of the usual will occur, which will test your flexibility and patience. By evening, all is well.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Social plans will change today. They might be canceled, or you might get an unexpected invitation to go somewhere. Sports events might also have a few surprises or detours. Protect children in your care against accidents.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Small appliances might fail today or a minor breakage could occur because something unexpected will impact your home. There might be some conflict at home or you might be irritated because you’ve run out of something. “No coffee?!” Patience is a test of character.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You might be obsessed with an idea or a specific subject today. Or it might be that you can’t get a song like “That’s the Way (I Like It)”by KC & The Sunshine Band out of our head. (Oh no, why did I say that? It’s back! I did it to myself!) Pay attention to everything you say and do to avoid accidents today.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Interruptions, mistakes and obsessions will impact most of us today in a mild way, or in some cases, a big way. You have to be vigilant about your money, your possessions and your wealth to make sure that something doesn’t go awry and you suffer a loss. Keep your eyes open.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today the moon is in your sign at odds with wild, wacky Uranus, which is why you can expect disruptions or obsessions with something unusual. You will feel super independent and won’t be bossed around by anyone. That’s right — anyone.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today you might feel restless, irritable and possibly stubborn because the moon is hiding in your chart, and yet, it is being provoked by the wild, electrical energy of Uranus. This introduces an unpredictable flavor to everything that you do. Steady as she goes.

If Your Birthday Is Today
